Nigeria Communication Commission (NCC) has admonished ICT Journalists to adhere to their professional ethics in order to ensure objective reportage of trending issues in the information and communication technology sector. This was voiced by the Executive Vice Chairman (EVC) of NCC, Dr. Eugene Juwa during Aaron Ukodie30 years of ICT Journalism and launch of books recently held in Lagos.
Juwa who was represented by Fumilola Akinode said that it was heartwarming that the ICT industry in Nigeria has witnessed a close watch by the media for the past thirty years, or more. He said it was erroneous to assume that the media started paying attention to the ICT industry very recently when Nigeria had a revolution in the industry in early 2001, when it began to count the number of lines available to the Nigerian population in millions.
Speakers at the event admonished young Journalist to be professional in covering and delivery of vital information as it pertains to the development of the sector.
