Nigerians in South Africa Can Now Enroll

Nigerians in South Africa can now get their Bank Verification Number (BVN) exercise done in South Africa. The Nigeria’s Consul General in South Africa, Ambassador Uche Ajulu-Okeke, said the Central Bank of Nigeria has approved a centre to conduct the exercise. The centre is said to be in Johannesburg.
The BVN gives each Bank customer a unique identity across the Nigerian Banking industry that can be used for easy identification and verification at Point of Banking operations. This exercise was introduced to address existing challenges with identity management and protect accounts from unauthorized access by capturing essential Biometrics of each customer.
