CENTENARY CELEBRATION: ICT Drivers to be Recognised and Celebrated
As a way of giving recognition to Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Nigeria, ICT Media Initiatives plans to set a day aside for ICT drivers to be recognised and celebrated. The idea behind this initiative is to ensure that more focus is given to ICT sector in Nigeria culminating in “ICT Centenary Celebration”.
This was disclosed during ICT Media Initiatives recent visit to the Director General of National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Dr. Chris Onyemenam.
In his welcome address, NIMC DG, Dr. Chris Onyemenam applaud the initiative of ICT Media Practitioners in coming up with such laudable idea. He seized the opportunity of the visit to state NIMC’s unrelenting efforts aimed at ensuring that an effective identity management system is put in place in Nigeria.
The first Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Centenary Awards in commemoration of the milestones in the ICT industry in Nigeria has received the nod of Nigeria’s Minister of Communications Technology, Dr. Omobola Johnson and the Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission, Dr. Eugene Juwah.
They described the ICT Centenary Award as a positive development in recognition of individuals and corporate organisations that toiled to create the values that are being celebrated globally as landmark achievements in the ICT ecosystem in Nigeria.
