FG endorses Nigeria Digital Innovation conference …….adopts Nigerian Mobile Economy Summit

The Nigerian Government through the Federal Ministry of Communications has endorsed the Nigerian Digital Innovation Conference 2017. The event organized by the Centre for Cyber Awareness and Development, CECAD billed for August 10/11 at the University of Ibadan aimed at optimizing new digital opportunities and making the ICT sector the next focal point for development.

The endorsement came officially from the Minister of Communications Barrister Adebayo Shittu through a release recently. According to him, “I am pleased to endorse the Nigerian Digital Innovation Conference 2017 scheduled for August 10-11 at the University of Ibadan as requested. I can assure you that government would do everything you and other like-minded organizations would need to support your initiatives and consequently advance the growth and development of ICT industry in Nigeria. I will therefore appreciate to be acquainted with the update of the preparation for guidance as time goes on.” the release read in part.

The Minister also adopted the Nigeria Mobile Economy Summit and Expo, giving assurance on government’s support for the programme.

In a related development, the Director General of the National identity Management Commission, NIMC Engr. Aliyu Aziz has also endorsed the Nigerian Digital Innovation Conference 2017. The NIMC DG who was on a courtesy visit to the Executive Director of CECAD, Dr. Bayero Agabi in Lagos also endorsed the August 10-11 event.
