Excitement in Kebbi As Tech Initiative Launches ‘StartUp Kebbi Project’

 

 

The narrative in Kebbi State is seemingly changing in perspective with the hitherto agrarian state demonstrating it’s readiness to showcase her technology  potential. In the coming week the state will witness a big bang in the technology ecosystem as StartupKebbi hosts ‘Kebbi Project’, a digital skills boothcamp.

His Excellency, Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State in company of top officials and special guests are expected to attend the launch of Kebbi Project initiative.

The Project

The Initiative is convoked by enterprising Kebbi young minds designed as a support structure for youth empowerment and development acceleration across the Kebbi State local government areas.

The Team Leader, Mohammed Jega, described the new moves as one of the major strategic programs to raise Kebbi’s influence in the technology ecosystem.

“Startup Kebbi is an advanced skill acquisition and mentorship program that is hosted in partnership with Microsoft, Facebook, Google, Foorloop and other companies from across different sectors of the economy including agriculture, commerce, entertainment, technology, business etc.

“It is a vehicle to empower entrepreneurs and start-ups operating within Kebbi State with the right knowledge, skills, contacts and resources required to accelerate the growth of their ideas, products or businesses”.

Jega, who is also a Founder of StartupArewa, further disclosed that the 2018 edition of Startup Kebbi program will feature two days Digital Skills Bootcamp which has been scheduled to hold on 5th and 6th of May 2018 at Auditorium Waziri Umar Polytechnic Kebbi State with over 1000 youths already indicated interest to attend.

Crème de crème of speakers with vast knowledge in technology-business, investment, project financing, VC, amongst others are expected to be in attendance.

Dr Bashir Gwandu, Chairman, Commonwealth ITU; Dr Ibrahim Dauda, CEO Vault Group; Dr Ahmed Adamu, First Commonwealth Chairperson; Engr. Andrew Abu, President, Young Innovators Nigeria; Abolade Akintomiwa, President, National Association of Computer Science Students; and Usman Ali Lawal, CEO Usaifa, will join the high profile speakers.

Raymond Chen, Founder Agribooth; Maryam L Gwadabe, CEO Blue Solutions; Ahmed Makoshi, Founder Gigalayer; Safiya Usman, CEO, Hamfar Designs; Abdullahi Abdulamjeed, DG Arewa Investment Promotional Council; Tobi Okunuga, Founder Growth House; Aminu B Ibrahim, Lead Facebook Developer Circles; Dr Usman Isyaku Director ATIPC and Moses Siasia, Chairman Nigeria Young Professionals Forum, will share their from their wealth of experiences.
